BISHOP NOLL VS LOWELL IN THE 11TH ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL CHALLENGE BY JOHN SMIERCIAK

  • 8 photos
  • GARY | Chad Mateja made his first start of the season Saturday, but nobody told Lowell. Mateja led Times No. 5 Bishop Noll to a 10-0 win over the Red Devils in five innings for the High School Challenge nightcap at U.S. Steel Yard. "I was just getting the ball over the plate, hitting my spots and letting the defense do its job," Mateja said. The senior hurler threw five shutout innings, striking out eight while his offense did its job, scoring 10 runs to end the game early.
